Stirling Village Plans Lodged with Adelaide Hills Council

Late last month we lodged a planning application with the Adelaide Hills Council for the redevelopment of Stirling Village, our shopping centre which was destroyed by fire at the end of 2023.

We respect the Council’s planning process and would normally not make public comments while planning assessment is underway.

However, given the long and hard journey we’ve all been on since the fire – our tenants, neighbouring retailers, the wider Stirling community and ourselves – we think it’s important to share our aspirations to reinstate this essential part of the Adelaide Hills community as quickly as we can.

On Thursday 2 July we participated in a community event where we shared our plans for the centre with the Stirling and Adelaide Hills community. It was great to see more than 350 people in attendance and receive really positive support for our plans.

We’re aiming to recreate what made Stirling Village special – its intrinsic village feel – but offer more convenience, substantially more parking and more shopping choice.

We have used the challenging slope of the land to create space for a full-line supermarket almost 50% larger than before (3,850sqm versus 2,600sqm).

We’re going to double the number of specialty shops to 14 and, importantly, we’re also significantly increasing the number of car parking spaces (315 up from 178) including 180 in an all-new underground car park with direct shopping centre access.

The result will be an exceptional shopping experience in the heart of the Adelaide Hills that the Stirling community can be proud of and, most importantly, provide easy, convenient daily needs.

Thanks to everyone for your continued patience and support. We look forward to the outcome of the planning process.
